The weekend report…

Goodness, it’s been very busy here at the farm and it’s only Monday!  Here is a rundown of the events over the weekend…

Cheeto one of the black sheep seems to have formed an alliance with the turtles.  I noticed that they were huddled together whispering and kept glancing over at the ducks.  I am concerned but so far have no evidence of any actual plotting. Will continue to monitor the situation.

The cats are still working night and day on the musical numbers for their upcoming performance of Les Mis. I still haven’t asked them why they didn’t go with Cats, I guess maybe they thought that would ruin the artistic integrity of the performance it being so literal and all. Anyway, the singing at all hours of the day and night is starting to get annoying but I don’t dare mention it as they are such a sensitive group.

Spent 3 hours yesterday wandering in the woods looking for Pillsbury the pig. Ended up being a wild goose chase, no really - Mildred one of the geese, was back there trying to sell Avon to all the hens.

Love is in the air here on the farm as two of my favorite cows, Ben and Jerry have announced their engagement!  So glad that gay cow marriage was legalized here recently - it looks to be a spring wedding! More details to coming soon but I believe they will be registering at Moo Barn.

Speaking of love, well lust really.  I walked in on Eileen and Buzz two VERY married clumsy reindeer doing the deed in the tool shed the other day.  I’m not here to judge but I just know that their spouses (Betty and Dave) are gonna have their antlers when they find out and lets face it, they will.  The reindeer’s are notoriously bad at keeping secrets.

We also finished construction on our new home - FINALLY!  A word to the wise my friends and farmers…never trust a goat when he makes you a promise that a project will be done on time or on budget.

We have a big New Year’s bash planned here at the farm this year and would like to open our barn doors to any and all of our neighbors who would like to join us. Just drop on in, no rsvp necessary - hope to see you there!

Christmas on the farm…

What a glorious morning on the farm…well, it started out that way anyhow.  Woke to the pitter-patter of baby cow hoofs eagerly awaiting their presents.  After much yelling and confusion we finally gathered everyone around the tree and waited for the chickens to bring us our gifts (it was their year to play Santa).  On the count of 3 everyone began tearing open their gifts - it was truly a sight!! There was so much wrapping paper we had to haul it off with the tractor!  Everyone seemed quite pleased with their gifts at first…then the fighting began.  Apparently there was a mix-up at Santa’s workshop and the turtles were in fact the one’s who asked for laptops and not the pigs.  The turtles are a rather aggressive bunch so instead of just offering to trade with the pigs they went with the less diplomatic approach and well let’s just say that a trip to the vet was required and leave it at that.  All and all though it was a wonderful morning and we have added several new faces to our little community who we all look forward to getting to know!

I would personally like to thank all my neighbors for all of their generosity and for just being the warm and wonderful farmers they are!

From my farm to yours, I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a most happy new year!!!
